MEETING MINUTES

An email from Victor Lescovitz was read indicating that this project won’t
be here until 2018.
-
It was discussed that we need to obtain updated maps so we could verify
the specific area between I79 and Route 22.
-
Comments were made about contacting the Montour Trail Committee, the Panhandler
Trail Committee, and the McDonald Councilmen in an effort to gain their
support of the B1 route.

In addition, discussion about contacting the Audubon Society to find out
some details of the migrating songbirds that are present in the area.

The subject of organizing the "Committee to Save Our Homes" as a non-profit
organization to be protected by the Corporate laws at the state and federal
levels.

It was suggested that the Committee should pursue 501C3 status under the
Internal Revenue Code, so that those donations to the Committee could be
tax deductible for the contributors.

The possibility of obtaining some types of grants to help finance our effort
from different organizations was discussed.

In addition, attempts may be made to have Cecil Township Supervisors budget
some finances to fight the road coming through our bedroom community.

Contacting the State Game Commission and the Fish & Boat Commission
for their support of the water and hunting areas was talked about.

Richard S Ehmann, an attorney with experience in this type of predicament
was suggested as someone we might want to contact in the future. His number

The topic of saving any news media articles favoring the B1 route and forwarding
them to the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission (PTC).
-
It was suggested that the committee should consider declaring itself a
coalition, allowing us to have liability insurance.

A transportation expert may be needed to refute and/or verify any of the
PTC finding from their impact studies.
