Dear Cecil Township Residents:
This petition is being circulated for the purpose of rallying support for the proposed B1 route for the Toll Road. The Turnpike Commission is investigating the possibility of two other alternate routes as well - B2 and B3.
Recently 178 letters of "intent to enter" were received by Cecil Township residents in the Gladden Heights, Reissing Road and Turntable areas indicating that their properties could be "evaluated for possible inclusion in the toll road project". It is imperative that residents support the proposed B1 route for the following reasons:
I) The B1 route uproots the least number of families and neighborhoods. The proposed B2 and B3 routes disrupt and dissect "bedroom communities" within Cecil Township.
2) The B1 route minimizes the impact of declining real estate values of houses adjacent to the toll road because there are fewer homes affected.
3) The B1 route would be the most advantageous in maintaining the rural atmosphere of Cecil Township - one of the most desirable qualities for choosing to live in Cecil Township.
4) The B1 route would support the ongoing development of surrounding areas in Robinson Township. The B2 and B3 routes do not provide a similar benefit to Cecil Township.
5) The B1 route is ½ mile shorter than the B2 and B3 routes.
Please show your support by signing this petition.
